good one... but must have written in a foul mood (after a long conference call, i'm sure) Vintage Kathir!

last month i was in bangalore and had gone to pizza hut for a "carry away"...this counter is very close to the operations area and there i noticed an SOP for making "Masala Pepsi". Believe me, it was complete with document number, version, authorization details etc. pizza hut is not expecting their employees to be very bright, I guess.

Today organization’s are obsessed with certifications and Quality personnel are the Kings…standardization is the order of the day…when you recruit in such large numbers and so much of flux in man power, the management thinks that these processes are mandatory to remove the dependencies on humans, ("don’t depend on your own employees" - is a good way to run your business!).

it is also this urge to impress the western world that is pushing us to all this. India is once again being ruled by the western power, only this time we are getting paid for it (are we?).
